Great place for large or small picnic. The scenic Fort Trail cuts through Derby Reach. There's also a dog park close to the area.

This park has about 30 campsites beside the mighty Fraser River. There are lots of trails, a dog park, covered picnic sites with tables and benches.

Views are spectacular and it is well maintained. Gates are locked at night to keep it secure and quiet.

Nice walking paths, off leash dog area( - people should pick up their dog poop for all our enjoyment).

Derby reach is a fantastic place for a walk. One of my family's favourite walks is the houston trail loop, which has a small parking lot accessed off of McKinnon Crescent. It's a mixed use horse/walking trail that is very well maintained with packed gravel. It has a few decent little hills, one of which is quite steep so just beware of that if you bring a stroller or have small kids. It is an amazing walk through a coastal rainforest, with towering cedar and fir trees, among others, that are covered all over in moss. The air in the forest is always so refreshing. Half way through the houston trail, there is also a branch off that leads you towards the fort to fort trail along the fraser river.

This is one of our favorite walking parks, we start down the river and walk to the Fort and back. A great family outing as there are candy stores and interesting stores to explore.
