  Ridiculously bad service. My wife and I went in to look at purchasing a couch. No one approached us, staff would make eye contact with me then walk away. I took the couch info to the front desk and asked for help. Apparently they only have one staff member that has a password to login to order furniture. That person was helping another customer with beds and couldnt come up to help us.

  Someone who bought me a soap dispenser for my bathroom set for Christmas was sold a defective one (has a small fracture in the bottom and leaked everywhere upon first use). They happened to go away out of province after Christmas so I was unable to get a receipt from them. Went into the store assuming it'd be no big deal to do a straight exchange for the STILL REGULAR PRICED item. I was told that because the item was apparently discounted IN ANOTHER STORE that quote "HAD A BLOWOUT SALE" and marked the item down to $1, that they would put $1 towards my essentially purchasing a new one at regular price. Have never heard such a stupid policy in my life, especially since the product was defective when purchased. E-mailed customer service to be told that it is "at the store's discretion" whether or not to do the exchange. So basically it is "at the store's discretion" whether or not they give their customers decent service, or service at all? Avoiding this place like the plague from now on, and returning the items I bought this season that I still have receipts for.

  Was in Christmas Eve to pick up a couple things. First off , waiting in line there is an asian woman standing behind the cash desk while one person is serving customers. Finally a manager walks up and asks her if she is working? She says yes and takes her time getting to her register. Anyway, I picked up a chair cushion from a pile in the clearance section all of which were marked at $5.99. She tells me they are actually $9.99 and this one was marked wrong. I said they are all marked $5.99 and she just says do you want it or not. So fine, whats $4. She finishes ringing in the rest of my items and then gets all pissed off when I hand her my HBC points card that I had in my hand the whole time. This was my first time in this store and it will be the last. I expect much better from an HBC company.

  Poor customer service. Lack of staff. No wonder the Bays sub companies are also going under.

  I have had great customer service at the Langley location. Whenever I have asked for assistance, they have helped me out right away. Great place to shop in my opinion.
